SAFe6.0 is the newest version of the SAFe framework, which contains some changesand additions in comparison to SAFe 5.1. SAFe 6.0 offers the newest and mosteffective Lean-Agile practices, enabling forward-thinking enterprises to navigatetoday’s rapidly changing challenges and opportunities. Lean Portfolio Management is a 2-day intensive interactive course where you will learn how SAFe portfolio management works. The course provides you with tools and techniques for implementing agile portfolio management in your organisation.

As a Lean Portfolio Manager, you will be able to: • Describe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM)• Connect the portfolio to enterprise strategy • Establish the Portfolio Vision• Implement Lean Budgeting and Guardrails• Establish flow with the Portfolio Kanban• Support operational excellence with an Agile Program Management Office (PMO) and Communities of Practice (CoPs)• Coordinate Value Streams• Measure LPM performance• Build a plan for LPM implementation

At the course, you will learn how lean agile portfolio management works, from the underlying principles to specific techniques. You will learn to understand the present and future state of your portfolio better with the Portfolio Canvas tool. You will therefore be able to identify important business initiatives to ensure that your business is in the best possible position. In addition to this, you will as a participant gain insight into methods for establishing portfolio flows with Portfolio Kanban, and you will be capable of prioritizing initiatives in order to obtain the maximum financial returns. Furthermore, the course will give you an insight into how you establish Value Stream Budgets and Lean Budget Guardrails and measure how well your portfolio performs. The course will give you access to the SAFe® 6.0 Lean Portfolio Manager Exam, so that you can become a certified SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager.

The course addresses persons who wish to learn more about lean agile portfolio management and how it fits in with the broader SAFe framework. You might be a portfolio manager, part as a portfolio office, a managing director or a manager. You may also have another agile role, such as Product Owner or Scrum Master, or a person who is otherwise interested in portfolio management.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the course, regardless of experience. The following prerequisites are, however, strongly recommended: • Knowledge of the agile concepts and principles• Participation in Leading SAFe or SAFe PO/PM courses• Experience with working in a SAFe environment

Approx. 3 weeks prior to the course, you will receive a welcoming mail with instructions on how to prepare best. Preparations are not mandatory, but we recommend that you spend a couple of hours or more, depending on your current knowledge. After the course, you have 30 days for taking the exam, and during this period we recommend minimum one day’s revision.

The course is a 2 days’ intensive workshop from 9:00 am to 5.00 pm without lodging. Please note that evening assignments may occur. You are expected to participate actively at the course, which includes group assignments of varying duration, where you will have the opportunity to discuss and share ideas and examples.

The course will give you access to the SAFe® 5 Lean Portfolio Manager Exam, which is a multiple-choice test that you can take on-line up to 30 days after the course. After the course, you will have access to taking an exam as well as a test exam on the SAFe community platform. Once you have passed the exam, you will become a certified SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager and will receive a digital diploma as well as a digital badge. You must have attended both days on the course to qualify for the exam.

Our accredited teachers are experienced within counselling, coaching and management in agile teams, programs and portfolios. They combine practical experience with great knowledge about and an in-depth understanding of methods and theories. The course takes place in Danish and the materials are in English.
