PRINCE2 stands for PRojects IN Controlled Environments and is a process-based method for effective project management that is used all over the world.

This globally-recognised qualification teaches you the fundamental skills needed to be a successful project manager, and how to manage a project more effectively. And with the latest update, you can now tailor PRINCE2's methodology more easily to each project you undertake.
The Practitioner is the second of two examinations that you must pass to become a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner. This exam measures whether you can demonstrate sufficient ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 to the running and managing of a project. A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project.

By the end of the PRINCE2 Practitioner e-learning course you should be able to:
• Apply the PRINCE2 principles in context
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects ofPRINCE2 themes in context
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects ofPRINCE2 processes in context

Project managers and aspiring project managers
It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including:
• Project board members (e.g. senior responsible owners)
• Team managers (e.g. product delivery managers)
• Project assurance (e.g. business change analysts)
• Project support (e.g. Project andProgramme Office personnel)
• Operational line managers/staff

In order to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination you must provide evidence of being a current holder, of one of the following qualifications:
• PRINCE2 Foundation version 5 (2009) or 6 (2017)
• Project Management Professional(PMP)®
• Certified Associate in ProjectManagement (CAPM)®
• IPMA Level A (Certified Projects Director)
• IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager)
• IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager)
• IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate)
• Individual IPMA chapters have local interpretations of these certificates, e.g. in the UK the APM is the IPMA chapter. The APM Level D certification is their APM Project Management qualification.

After the course you can book your exam by using your exam voucher. It is a pre-requisite that you have participated in the course before you can take the exam. As Peak Consulting Group does not have exam rooms available, it is not possible to take the exam at the end of the course. The format of the exam is as follows:
• 150 minutes exam duration
• 38/68 required to pass = 55% passmark
• Open book (official PRINCE2 manual only)

• 12 months online access to our accredited PRINCE2 Practitioner course
• Full tutor support online, plus many additional resources to help put PRINCE2 into practice
• Online PRINCE2 Practitioner exam simulator
• Online PRINCE2 process map
• Online exam with remote invigilation

Please notice that this certification must be renewed every 3 years.

• If you have a PRINCE2 certificate from before 30 June 2020, your certification will expire on 30 June 2023.
• If you took your PRINCE2 certification after 30 June 2020, your certification expires 3 years after the date on your certificate.
This means that in the future you must renew your certification every 3 years if you want to keep your PRINCE2 certificate valid. If you are in doubt about when you have taken your exam, and thus when your certificate expires, you must log in to your PeopleCert profile, where you have access to your exams and certificates.
