We respect that not all customers wish to appear under their own name. For this reason, this case is described using general terms.
The existing IT function in the agency’s delivery operations were not contemporary, and there was a wish to apply agile forms of collaboration to a greater extent both in-house as well as with subcontractors. Furthermore, there was a wish to improve the collaboration with the operating organization through a range of DevOps initiatives in a bimodal setup based on SAFe®. In the bimodal setup there was moreover a need to modify existing classic project management to an agile setup using scrum, because both employees and external suppliers were increasingly beginning to apply scrum in connection with development of IT solutions.
When Peak took up the task the agency had only identified and described the agile transformation as a possible solution. Our consultants prepared and completed a list of clarification-workshops, where the frameworks and proportions of the agile transformation were aligned and concretized. On the basis of the objective a roadmap for the agile transformation was established, that among other things included competence building by utilizing Peak’s Ready-Set-Go concept. Simultaneously, a range of competence building courses for management were completed, so management possessed the necessary insight to make decisions regarding the upcoming transformation. This concrete and practice-oriented approach to scoping and start-up of the agile transformation, ensured that the agency got off to a good start with their agile transformation toward a bimodal setup, based on SAFe®.
